When I first started composing at 11, I would play my piano excercises while singing, "Kiss me again and again, my love." For most of the 70's, I continued to work on it, only to lose my work in '79 and decide to use the "crisis" as a reset.

The lyrics are a paraphrase of The Song of Solomon, every verse represented and every lyric sourced (except one couplet, if you can find it). The original text has a vague story that I have modestly amplified (lyrics in MP3 download). Originally, I had 13 Canticles, but with the modern additions, it grew to 14 with an encore from the ramshackle chapter 8. Passages linking between Cantilces have been merged with adjacent Canticles. There are about 20 musical themes (half old, half new).

I am referring to this as the "demo" version. I recorded only a trio of instruments (live acoustic guitar, live acoustic bass guitar, live percussion) and trio of voices (Encore needed all 6 planned vocals). I imagine the King & Queen leads to be sung by Steve Winwood and Chaka Khan circa 1985 with a killer pit orchestra. Some day?
